What are you talking about???
The United States spend billions of dollars to rehabilitate Italy after World War II and did not ask for anything in return. They left some weapons caches in and around Europe for anti-communists, typically in the police force or military, just in case there was either an internal Uprising or a Soviet Act of aggression. I'm sure you didn't know this but outside of the Soviet Union, Italy had the largest Communist Party in Europe. After nursing Italy back to health in spending billions upon billions of dollars and years worth of hard work and sweat they left some Firepower for the Armed Forces to protect the government from a left-wing takeover. Italy didn't have a military at the time. And there was a few million Communists in the country dreaming about taking power and becoming subservient to Moscow. I find it totally logical and reasonable 50 United States did that. And if you think they really had any influence Beyond giving money to the Christian democrats and financing different causes then you're sadly mistaken. They were quite busy doing other things around the world and would not have created false Flags and interfere with Italy's internal politics. I could list a number of reasons why it's pretty obvious that never happened but the most glaring is that there is absolutely no way Washington could ever maintain secrecy and not have something leak out. Now, if certain individuals or groups took advantage of the weapons caches and abused that Authority and responsibility for ideological reasons, they have to answer to their Italian peers. But, as far as I see it I don't think the United States did anything wrong. In fact I think they were acting responsibly. The only thing I could potentially criticize them for is not informing the heads of state. That created a situation where the lifelong civil servants and bureaucrats felt they knew better then the elected officials. That being said, I'm sure there were reasons why the US couldn't trust certain elected officials...it's a sticky area

The Italian Communist Party condemned the Soviet Union's
military intervention to crush the "Prague Spring" 1968 in Czechoslovakia and broke off relations with the USSR . Western European communist parties all followed the lead of Enrico Berlinguer leader of the Italian Communist Party and formed what was called western european communism more on the lines of democratic socialism .
By the early 1970s the various Italian parties in parliament formed coalitions promoting and invoking a fairer distribution of wealth . Party loyalty and ideology came secondary or even tertiary to the needs of vital goods and services to the everyday Italians .
Leader of the Christian Democrats (DC) Aldo Moro a devout Christian and Enrico Berlinguer found common ground in reforms to lift the poor ( In Moro's view perhaps the "Liberation Theology" of Pope John the 23rd starting circa 1960) .
Both Moro and Berlinguer were two of the most decent men who walked this earth .
There is no way these young , daft, nihilists more than leftists, could have pulled off any of these false flag operations around Europe. The blood of Moro and thousands of innocent europeans is stained forever on the hands of the US and NATO and their fascist puppets Gladio.
